Project Update #6 - January 2025 - Playable Pre-Alpha Demo and Steam Co-Op Fest

First Public Playable of Infinity Knights: Xross on Steam Now During Couch Co-Op Fest until the 27th! 🎮
Hey, everyone!
Don't we have exciting news. We are bringing our first-ever public playable demo of Infinity Knights: Xross to Steam for PC during the Steam Couch Co-Op Fest from now until February 27th, 2025! 🎉
We all hope you're ready for this boss battle experience! This demo will put your combat and teamwork skills to the test as you and a friend face off against the Forgotten Knight.
In this boss battle demo, we want to provide you with an early hands-on glimpse at the game’s dynamic combat system and allow you to test out a few weapons, character elements, and abilities that you’ll eventually be able to explore on a much deeper level in the final version of the game.
We do want to preface that this is a pre-alpha build - visual and technical issues are entirely to be expected. It is a very small snippet of what you can expect from the final game. Many more abilities, weapons, mechanics, and systems are at play than what is shown in this demo.
That being said, it's still a great chance to get everyone involved in the Infinity Knights journey which is really what we're looking forward to. Plus, we like celebrating cooperation wherever we can.
We don’t want to spoil too much, but we're keen for you to challenge the Forgotten Knight during the Couch Co-Op Fest!
Couch Co-Op!
Wishlists and Feedback
We would also greatly appreciate it if you could add the game to your Steam Wishlist, if you haven't yet. Your wishlist add is a tremendous help in getting visibility on Steam.
Also, we absolutely want to hear your feedback after you have had a chance to challenge the Forgotten Knight. You can leave it in the Steam Discussion boards, on Kickstarter, in our Discord server, or email it to us directly at [email protected]!
Discord is absolutely our preferred place of contact - we've opened up a forum inside of Discord for all Forgotten Knight related posts.
The Alpha
The Alpha is set to go live on February 28th. There is every possibility that it will be slightly delayed, but we'd like you to know that we're working on it day in and out - so we really appreciate your patience. Like the Forgotten Knight demo, we expect there to be various technical and visual problems, but that's a key part of it being an Alpha, and we're really excited to get our community involved and experiencing the world of the Infinity Knights. The new music, the new environments, the animations, sound effects, everything.
We think it's best to go live with these things once we are able, even if parts are missing or obtuse. If we wait until everything is solid, we think things will generally take longer to complete and getting eyes on it earlier rather than later lets us nip problems in the bud. Through these tests and our community's involvement, Infinity Knights: Xross will take greater shape than ever before and be closer to our final vision.
We are so excited to share the Alpha with you, and construct Infinity Knights: Xross into its final form, with everyone's help.
The next post will include an Alpha play guide detailing all the steps involved. For now, if you're involved in the Alpha tier, I would have your UUID handy. Stay tuned!
As always, our Eternal Gratitude
Please stay tuned for more updates and thank you for being part of our adventure! We are so appreciative of you all every day.
Warm regards,
Timesea Studio Saxon, Michael, and Tyrone Goodrick

Greetings and Happy New Year!
2024 was... well the biggest year for us to date! Lots has happened, and we're going to recap all the highlights here for you now as we head into 2025 (a bigger year!).
The Mushroom King knows how to ring in the new year.
Summary
You helped us successfully blast past the Infinity Knights: Xross Kickstarter goal, raising close to $150k AUD.
You achieved several stretch goals, including multiple new characters and weapons for Infinity Knights: Xross (Alessia, Kazere, G.K., Shield, Bow, Staff, Cards).
We have worked, and will continue to work, with Hiroki Kikuta - and what a dream come true that is.
We hosted a fan art competition for characters and enemies! Entrants made some wicked stuff! One of them is even making its way into the game...
We were featured by a variety of news outlets, including Famitsu, NintendoLife, RPGFan, HitPoint, and more! We shared a lot of great info about the game.
Our Discord server has blossomed into a welcoming and healthy space, and we love everyone’s constructive and thoughtful discussions about Infinity Knights and so much more! We will continue to add features, like emotes, to make your experience even more fun and enjoyable.
We were invited to participate in our very first convention! Pixel Expo was a fantastic experience where we met backers, new fans, and other developers in Perth, Australia.
Our team has expanded as we've brought on more talent.
We posted our first mechanics blog onto Kickstarter. Let us know if you want more posts like this!
Our Kickstarter and Everyone Who Contributed
We can never say it enough but thank you so much to everyone involved in our project.
When we launched the Kickstarter, we had only recently started our socials. Before that, we spent most of our time building a prototype game, something that the three of us brothers would actually play together - our dream game. Then one day, we thought Infinity Knights could be something worth sharing with everyone.
We think we posted our first characters in January, stopped for a while as we got our bearings, then started really posting in April. Two months later, in June, we launched the Kickstarter.
The Character Banner for Infinity Knights: Xross
We had really big aspirations and were confident that we would meet our goal throughout the campaign - then it was funded in less than two days! Your confidence and belief in what we're doing is awesome, and we appreciate it all.
The campaign was an effort. We spent almost every waking moment in front of our PCs, writing copy, messaging press, interacting with fans. It was truly an enormous effort, but a very fulfilling one. And now, five months later, we're able to continue working on bringing this game to life. Something we've always dreamt of.
Here's to you all and thank you so much for your continued support. We will always remember it.

Stretch Goals (Characters and Weapons)
As well as this Kickstarter being a success, our community also reached quite a few stretch goals!
Alessia, The People's Shield, joined the party as a playable character, along with Kazere and his owl companion Quiv, and the fearsome G.K...

We had high hopes that we would make these stretch goals and be able to bring Infinity Knights: Xross closer to our final vision - a massive and epic RPG full of characters and areas. We're very glad we got part of the way there. Having an extra three playable characters means you get a whole 'extra' party to control (as the game is 3-player!).

Plus, who doesn't love a stalwart, shield-wielding knight... An adept, owl-carrying archer, or a... Well, we aren't going to reveal what G.K. is, but he's mysterious and very powerful.

Hiroki Kikuta - Legendary Composer
We think one of the biggest honours we have ever had the privilege of experiencing is working with Kikuta-san.
Part of the reason we love co-op games so much is because of the games we played while we were young - chopping away at enemies together while Kikuta-san's music plays in games like Secret of Mana.
Now we're all grown up and making a game, and we get to work alongside one of the very people who inspired us. What a dream come true! Honestly, it's surreal. The moment we heard the first song that Kikuta-san made for us was one we will never forget.
An incredible honour and a privilege. Our immense thanks to the legend himself, we're excited for the future of Infinity Knights: Xross and our continued work together.
Fan Art Competition
During the Kickstarter, we decided to host an art competition, and we got quite a few responses!
Deep Fried Crocodile entered this number to our character competition and won! We are deeply appreciative of the time taken to craft this piece, and we very much enjoyed seeing the updates as it came together. We are very honoured. A well-deserved first place <3 Thank you so much and well done.
Deep Fried Crocodile, a Discord community backer, painted Xross, Fate, and Alessia, winning the character art competition.
TrigunUnU VT won the fiend art competition by designing a new enemy called the Bun Bao - a play on the famous 'Bánh Bao/Hum Bao'. These adorable creatures transform into terribly evil (and swole) monsters when attacked by all those unruly, pot breaking, creature attacking gamers. TrigunUnU VT will help us bring this enemy (or another if they choose) into the game, as an actual monster you can fight. Thank you, TrigunUnU VT!
TrigunUnU VT's monster entry - Bun Bao - an adorable creature that transforms into a terribly swole evil monster!
An immense thank you to everyone who participated. It was very fun and exciting to see everyone's thoughts and posts, and it makes us very glad to be part of such a community.
After all, that's what this is all about - we're trying to create something great that you play, but also something you can think about, explore, create from, and become inspired by - this is for the community.
Discord and our Community
Speaking of community, we just wanted to touch base here on those who joined the discord. It's been a massive pleasure getting to chat with you all, hear your thoughts on not just Infinity Knights: Xross, but also games/anime/all-the-things-we-love. It's steadily grown this year and is a lot of fun. We're always looking to improve things, and we're hoping to cultivate it over time, continuing to strengthen it as a place for the community to chat and help develop the game.
We're currently looking into making and polishing a really neat server banner, but in the meantime, we've been updating our channels and emotes.
Please join us for our 'Where's Quiv?' posts and our emote guessing games. We just want you to know that you can directly talk to us at any time by giving us a friendly 'hello' or sending us an email.
A Special Gift
Michael finished off the 2024 school year with his students and has now transitioned to full-time development for 2025! One of his students made him an unforgettable leaving present, pictured below!
It's Xross!
In Other News
Creating a game isn't just development. We also had to do a lot of press and interviews to try and get this game in front of people, which was a really interesting experience.
NintendoLife posted our very first interview, and we enjoyed it immensely. It was really cool getting to answer questions about the game and talk about creating Infinity Knights: Xross as brothers. RPGFan also interviewed us where we revealed even more information about the game! We were featured in quite a few news outlets, but one in particular that stood out for us was the HitPoints broadcast by SuperDerek and Baku. Saxon was interviewed live for almost an hour talking about RPGs, Infinity Knights: Xross, and fun stuff. It was great!
We met a tonne of people and had a blast. Some lucky fans even walked away with Infinity Knights T-shirts. We want to thank everyone who stopped by our booth to speak with us and share their thoughts about the game. Your feedback means so much to us!
We're looking forward to providing the community with opportunities to see and play parts of the game prior to release, and we look forward to sharing more news with you soon.
Our booth at Pixel Expo 2024
Thanks again Pixel Expo! We'll see you in 2025.
The Alpha, Beta, and the Future (2025)
We're hard at work all day, every day, doing as much as we can to get Infinity Knights: Xross in your hands. Closing in on us is the alpha, which we'll do a preamble for during the January update. We'll also release a play guide for the alpha, and we'll be open to any questions and feedback in our community Discord.
2025 is a really exciting year for us. We'll be revamping our socials and Steam page, releasing the alpha and beta, and we have quite a few major reveals taking place over the coming months. Of course, we also have a lot of Kickstarter rewards to fulfill - quests, NPCs, statues - you name it.
This project is a really large undertaking and we're totally up to the task, but we do want to take another moment to say that we're really appreciative of everyone's support. It goes a long way, trust us!
In Closing
We wanted to give a general highlight and recap of our second half of 2024, as well as expressing our thanks once again.
So, thank you so much! We will continue to strive for greatness and will be working our best to get you Infinity Knights: Xross - our first entry to this series in the making.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
Warm regards, Saxon, Michael, and Tyrone Goodrick (Timesea Studio)
